Despite the barriers to entry, Black storytelling has a profound and unquantifiable impact on us, Hollywood and the world. This Black History Month, we celebrate and validate the dreams of every young Black actor, director and writer. “Black Girl Magic” is a piercing, beautiful, and much needed call to let black girls be just that - girls filled with hope, wonder and magic.

This spoken word short film, brought to you by Kae King (@thekaeking) the writer/performer of the LALIFF award winning short, “In Case I’m Next”, celebrates and seeks to validate the dreams of black girls in hopes of a day where it doesn’t take a magic wand to fulfill them. Directed by Derek Nguyen and produced by Kenzo Le at Crimson Edge.
